Helicopter landing zone
My teammates risk their lives to transport me to the helicopter landing zone. They had to cross through an open area while receiving and returning fire. (This photo was taken from helmet camera footage. One of the soldiers had their helmet camera running during my medical treatment and evacuation.)

Helicopter loading

10 days later
Believe it or not, I look 1,000 x’s better in this photo than I had earlier in the week. This photo was taken in San Antonio, Texas almost 10 days after I was wounded.
